How long does it take to setup my account?
Your account will normally be setup within 2 to 6 hours. Most of the time under 1 hour.

I would like to move my hosting to you, but I have so many sites to move. Can you help me?
Yes, we can move your sites for you, and you will not experiance any down time at all. All we need is either ssh, or ftp login information for your old host, and we will transfer all your data for you. Once your data is moved, and we confirm your sites are working properly on your new account. We will ask you to change your name servers to point to us, and you can then cancel your account with your former host.

My site is growing. Can I change my service plan?
Sure, you can change your service plan at any time. You can upgrade, or downgrade your plan. To do this, please send an email to billing@hosthead.com and we will make the change effective the next business day.

Can I host more then one domain on my account?
You can host more then one domain on all our plans except the "mini" plan. This plan only allows one domain name to be hosted. Please see our list of virtual plans located here : http://www.hosthead.com/virtual.htm

Will my account have a control panel?
Yes, all our virtual plans offer a control panel for ease of use. You can add, and remove domains, email accounts, MySQL databases and so on. If you would like to see more information about the control panel we use, please see http://www.directadmin.com

Do you allow adult sites?
It would be impossible to actively monitor what all our customers are hosting. We support free speech, and as long as the content of your site is legal in the United States, and you are not violating any copyright laws, you are free to host what you like. However, if your site(s) start to use large amounts of the machines resources, we may ask you to move your account to a dedicated solution.

What if I need to cancel my account?
We never like to see a customer leave us, but if you need to cancel your account, you must login to your billing account at https://secure.hosthead.com/billing and open a ticket requesting you would like to cancel your service. This is the best solution to prevent someone from attempting to cancel an account that is not their own, or cause problems for our customers.

How long does it take to get my server?
We build 90% of our servers to order so please allow 2 to 7 business days for your machine to be online. Once your machine is online, we will adjust your invoice to start the day your machine is available.

Do I get root access to my machine?
Yes, all dedicated hosting customers have full root access to their machine via SSH.

I would like to have a certain software program installed on my server, can you help me?
Sure, we are happy to help you install software on your server. Usually this is a free charge. There are times that the software being installed is complex, and we will need to charge a fee for the time involved. We will let you know ahead of time if we would need to charge a fee. It is rare where we would need to charge a fee, but have needed to in some cases.

What if I want to upgrade my hardware?
Just contact sales@hosthead.com and we can quote you on the cost of the upgrade. Memory, and Hard Drives can be upgraded, and charged a one time fee, or added onto your monthly invoice.

Is there a contract I need to sign for a dedicated server?
At this time we do not require a contract to be signed. Our plans are month to month, although you will receive a discount on payments of 3, 6, or 12 months in advance.

Can I run a game server with my dedicated server?
Of course, we have many customers that use their server as a game server. You can also use it for streaming radio, a database server, serving websites, etc. There is no limit to what you can do with your machine.

Do you allow adult sites?

Can I resell hosting on my server?
Absolutely. We don't limit what you can do with your machine like some hosting companies. You are free to resell accounts, and could end up having the server pay for itself, and then some. With our DA Control Panel, it makes it very easy to resell hosting to anyone, while you stay in full control.

How do I change my billing information?
If you need to change your billing information, such as your address, or phone number, you can do so by logging into our billing and support system at https://secure.hosthead.com/billing/ and make the change. If you would like to change your method of payment, please contact us at billing@hosthead.com and we can make this change for you.

What if I need to cancel my account?
If you ever need to cancel your account, please login to your account at https://secure.hosthead.com/billing/ and open a ticket stating you would like to cancel your account. This is the most secure why to avoid unauthorized people from trying to cancel a customer's account against their will.

My credit card has expired. What do I do?
If your credit card is about to expire, you will receive an email alerting you to this. Or if you just want to change the credit card you are currently using. Just log into your account at https://secure.hosthead.com/billing/ then click on "finances" and then click "Update my CC". You will then be prompted with fields to enter your new credit card number, and expiration date. Click submit, and you are done. The next billing cycle will use this credit card information.

I don't have a credit card or a PayPal account. Can I still host with you?
Sure you can. We accept money orders, checks, and wire transfers via Western Union. Our only limit is the amount we accept for wire transfers. We accept a minimum of $50.00 or one full year hosting paid in advance, which ever is less.
For example, our "mini" package is $34.50 per year when paid in advance. We will accept this payment even though it is less then $50.00.

What if I don't pay my bill?
You will be notified of late payment 3 times for the first 30 days. If after a week you have not paid your bill, or at least contacted us of a problem, or to work something out, your account will be suspended. After 30 days if you still have not responded to us, your account will be terminated. We may pass on the bill to our collections company. They have offices in over 30 countries, and will continue to attempt to collect on the bill.
The best thing to do is inform us you would like to cancel your account (please see above) and you will avoid having a collection company contact you.
